See My Child

She could see in the eyes, Of her young one, A tomorrow of hope, A better than now, It's from the pain of labor, The effort of pushing at birth, Just as the burden of raising this one, She believes and Knows... 'My child has come of age' See out there my child Face the truth of life I am your mother! You should know, I want it better for you Your are my flesh, an extension of myself Open then your eyes child, Listen keenly too Speak little, talk wisely walk on this path of light, when the darkness comes, lie down to slumber You are my child, I shall protect you, My gift from God, I shall love you, so my words, should stay with you resonating in your ears, for all your years
