This Far

This far we have come,
This far,
We kept the calm,
This far,
We left even some,
For this far we have come,
Yet still we have some,
To cover-
Just as this far we have come,

There were times as we came,
We carried the brunt of shame,
Engulfed by the demon of blame,
We were made lame!
Every time we woke up to the same.
But this far we still came.

For me I felt the burden,
Heavy and weirdly ridden,
By a lot I know not, then all of a sudden,
Comfort neither given,
It felt dark and heathen,
But this far we still came…

It was the nights of solitude,
Days of suffering magnitude,
Conversations rose to attitude,
Yet the latitude, felt like the longitude,
Lost in direction,
With nothing to mention,
Only sheer tension
Yet this far we came!

This far we have come,
