THESE VILE CREATURES
their stealth and charm will cause you harm,
these ones lift your spirit up like a kite,
then stop blowing, letting you plummet
like a celestial body from out of space,
until your light shuts off!
the venom is in the mind,
poison in the tongue
disease between teeth,
words of blunder full of plunder,
spoken carelessly,
beautifully packaged!
water for the thirsty
wine poured for the greedy,
abusing the meticulous brewing!
the times of moil and toil
these cannot rest until your covered in soil!
eyes dancing this way,
eyes darting that way,
they cannot look you straight,
so they look you down,
your effort to them, is a discomfort
colonialists!
competing in a phantom competition,
dictators full of themselves,
they cannot see it,
their blindness,
lead them to grope in the dark,
so they steal your light...
leaving you naked and stark!
Huyu ni shujaa!
SILHOUTTE
I was strolling alone,
Along my neighbours lawn,
My thoughts split and thrown,
To the blue blackness of dawn!
It was then that I saw,
The interruptor of my heaven,
A figure,
hidden,
Among the shadows of darkness!
I consider my pace,
Decelarate my race,
Spooked and desperate to trace,
The unanimous frightening face!
I am now not single,
Not at all willing to mingle...
With the other,
Not single,
In the shadows!
I collect my morsel of courage,
I advance,
To encountor this predator!
What a quarry it will acquire,
The moment i yield!
Ah I see,
I can now
See what the darkness confiscate,
the blackness deceived me,
Ooops...
My lifeless silhoutte...
The spirit of the dead...
According to the animist belief ,
the dead relive,
Only faith in christ,
Gives the certainty,
Of an immortal rebirth.
Listen to the wind
the meaning bush
it's the breath of the ancestors...
Those who died
never left us
They are in the thickening shadow,
they are in the shaking tree,
they are in the running water,
they are in the hut,
the dead are not dead!
They are in the woman's womb,
they are in the infant's wail,
and in the flaming brand,
they are in the dying fire,
they are in the weeping grass,
They are in the forest,
they are in the hut...
the dead are not dead.
They Made US Stronger!
Attacked us from Hades,
When they Killed our own,
When they Maimed us...
THEY MADE US STRONGER!
When the guns blazed,
When the Mall Razed,
By fires of evil desires,
They failed get their requires...
THEY MADE US STRONGER!
This ones held us hostage...
Among us a Camouflage-
of brothers in sheep skins,
Yet deep in them are beasts-
caged and full of rage,
THEY MADE US STRONGER!
Three days they held...
For three days they frightened us,
three days they hid from us,
In three days....
THEY MADE US STRONGER!
we are one
everyone with us is one
Afraid no Longer
THEY MADE US STRONGER!

My Knees on Concrete.
Twisted
MY LABYRINTH
Like a trapped prey am out of luck,
The lights here are dimmed to dark,
In this sea of madness looms an attack,
Vicious like wolves is a pack.
At times its the anger,
Pure in form is the obvious danger,
Above me the harbinger,
Conniving schemes that endanger,
Inside here am a stranger!
A morsel of light is all I seek,
To see even tomorrow leak...
A little hope no matter how bleak,
So tired I am that I pick,
Anything offered in this mystic!
Once upon it was clear,
With a loved one close here,
A someone I could call dear...
But in a single tear,
Everything I knew was unclear!
In this maze,
All I do is gaze,
At nothing to amaze,
I face down like cattle in graze,
Caught up in a heinous craze!
The need to escape is like a fire!
Burning inside me with the desire,
Of freedom to acquire,
My ultimate require,
In here, that's all I admire!

MAWABA!
Ngware unarauka kupiga mawaba,

This Far
This far,
We kept the calm,
This far,
We left even some,
For this far we have come,
Yet still we have some,
To cover-
Just as this far we have come,
There were times as we came,
We carried the brunt of shame,
Engulfed by the demon of blame,
We were made lame!
Every time we woke up to the same.
But this far we still came.
For me I felt the burden,
Heavy and weirdly ridden,
By a lot I know not, then all of a sudden,
Comfort neither given,
It felt dark and heathen,
But this far we still came…
It was the nights of solitude,
Days of suffering magnitude,
Conversations rose to attitude,
Yet the latitude, felt like the longitude,
Lost in direction,
With nothing to mention,
Only sheer tension
Yet this far we came!
This far we have come,
This far,
We kept the calm,
This far,
We left even some,
For this far we have come,
Yet still we have some,
To cover-
Just as this far we have come.
Where are we?
Is a question now within,
yesterday it was another scene,
of something pure and clean,
with laughter, joy so a wide grin,
so why is now dark and obscene?
we knelt and prayed,
in humility we struggled,
in oneness we cuddled.
even for the little warmth-
we shared and gave to the other without...
now within again is cold,
the praying that once was bold,
is emaciated that faith dareth not hold,
lest it drops, in pain from the scold!
even the skies swallow the clouds,
so the earth is an oven...
...everyone baked
...everything caked
and exit when done
to a lifeless fold
yet we were told and told
and we chose to forget?
so he died, so what?
she cries, why not?
its sad, says who?
how come, you too?
defile the lands and the one in it!
even this one struggling to hatch,
you fry and have for breakfast!
me me me,
the cry of the person,
so you and them and all of them,
are nothing but pawns in the game of chess,
check mate is all we now know, ending it before they start it,
what is victory without the victor?
what is happiness without Joy?
what a harvest with bare stores?
blank nothings fromm somethings,
crafted like a circus to be and not to be,
a trick by the trickster,
to cry but laugh...
...with you in the midst!
where are we?
EVERYONE IS HERE BUT NO ONE AROUND!
The thoughts from them,
Ideas forged within them,
But what a shame,
Each of them with a name,
Defining an agenda of sheer shame!
It’s pouring outside,
The heavy Nimbus
Reliving their burden
Of water condemned!
So others shiver,
In the cold and dampness,
They cuddle and spoon,
Hoping it will be warm soon!
Still the voices,
Telling of grievances,
Choosing nothing but futile advances,
So the check clears,
Again none of them adheres,
Yet they are all here!
Tasked to lead,
They pioneer acts that bleed,
Draining blood in word and deed,
So they have to feed,
To satisfy material greed,
So the germination of the seed,
Is stunted….
… like this misdeed!
to the leaders who became cheaters and haters, sinners and takers!
I wish sometimes things were different,
Of failure, discrimination, misunderstandings, lies, deceit and treachery,
I wish sometimes,
I could sleep and dream the ones of yester years,
I wish sometimes,
I could lie in bed and sleep engulf me,
As the darkness covers the light,
With the warmness beneath,
Underneath there total serenity,
Peace and tranquility,
Where thoughts wander and meander in areas unknown,
Feeling light and heavy at the same time,
I wish sometimes it was like last week!
Where there was hope, and happiness,
Love and meaning, belonging and wanting
No deadlines, no t broke but within means,
Satisfied, and dreaming of next week,
But not this week for it is so different,
In a flash everything moved leeward,
Pushed out and off focus to a labyrinth so vile and dark
In a few everything turned,
The destiny within me altered,
My hope really fractured,
Heavily wounded that the body shakes into spasms,
The unreality of reality hits me hard and the fire in my eyes,
Expunged almost extinguished that all I see are shadows,
That for a while I lost consciousness,
Drifting into the nothingness,
The unwillingness overwhelms me as the willingness,
That I stumble and fall travelling from the yelling.
I am done?
It all had to end here?
After all the words?
After all the things I did to make it right?
After the fall this was my rise?
To end like a sentence misplaced in a journal,
Erased without thought of regret?
My dreams were to awake here?
And I slumber dreamless?
Am down I guess,
So down…
I call upon God, who I believe and at times doubt ,
But mostly I know he is Here, looking, waiting,
Timing and listening to my praying.
It is hard Father, so hard that my language I feel,
Is turning and am talking and saying different,
Listening and hearing other words….
I did not refuse to hear but I said it and they heard different
That I suffer in blame yet is said what I did!
I wish Father in heaven, it were different,
In as much as I doubt my spirit believes in you,
Even when they want to take away my mortality,
I will fight that I sit with you up there,
I pray you hear me and grant me the desires of my heart,
Instill in me, wisdom of choice and words,
That I may not be proud or loud,
But in harmony with the holy spirit with you within,
I pray for prosperity,
Not of wealth but of kindness,
Of love and happiness,
Of just and reason,
I pray Father most for understanding,
To love as to be loved,
To give as to be given,
To bring peace where there is war,
A solution where there is fault,
Light Father where darkness looms,
I pray father almighty
Not to be proud,
I pray Father for your guiding hand that as I step I will avoid,
This wishful thinking,
And live as you taught us
Let me be stronger,
Let me be faster,
Creative,
Hardworking,
Considerate,
Let me be what they are not!
That I may give it to them, and they will honor you,
Place in me Father the spirit of life and living,
That in my skill
I will do your will,
I will execute my talent
To get rid of this madness.
With the others before
And these ones I am with…
We will move forward the goodness
That good will conquer evil
We will triumph and smash the devil,
In a move we will squash the madness.
I believe that is why I rise above the debris,
I peek for fresh air and vow….
GOD COULD NEVER ABANDON ME!
It is them and their schemes,
With their agendas arranged in themes,
They know my weakness and exploit me …
To crush my spirit,
Then bury my body,
And trample over me,
Father I know that is why I believe,
You have a lot for me I know,
I have gone bad and rogue many times,
I pray for forgiveness
And I want to live more, give more, love more,
Share more and offer the path of life,
To those struggling,
To light the hope into those that switched off
And harbor in clueless vacuums,
Unable to exit!
Thank you Father for these words,
For if it was not for you,
This would be blank
With nothing from me.
THANKYOU FATHER!
The Shadow In The Light.
in the darkness it looms,
Dreaming of madness,
conspiring Lunacy,
- a personal harshness!
The cunningness of the shadow,
Before the awesome light is shallow,
In a brightness it can swallow-
- The shadow to an unfathomable ending!
full of sorrow
a shattered tomorrow,
as you go, still it will follow!
its the heart pounding,
in different tunes sounding,
an uprising confusing,
like a broth mixing,
the effluvia stinking,
suddenly the feeling,
that you are falling and bleeding,
then there goes something,
into the shadows searching
in futility anything for finding!
Deceit is legit,
yet the shadow is straight,
clinging on to the confused bait,
it can begin to terminate the wait!
The shadow in the light,
like a flicker in the dark commands might,
enabling the condemned, a morsel of sight,
a little bright to see the one you bite,
every time you think you right-
so before you a revelation...
of your dark in the light the perpetual white!
Trapped
I mean who said I could steal?
From them anything real,
So down my spine I feel the chill,
In my eyes I see-
-the reason for the kill!
It’s like you are trapped,
NOT LIKE ! but you are…
Inside this labyrinth-
Are what and not of filth,
Movements toned down to a stealth,
That motion is beneath!
You look around disturbed,
Thoughts fire shots unperturbed,
Inside here for real you are grabbed,
So your shoulder, thin or broad is rubbed,
With them all to a rubba dub!
Around not even a sound!
Even the bark of an irked greyhound,
For you lay on the ground,
Rise and pace around,
And again sit on the ground!
It is the confusion,
The disunion,
Black communion,
So the action,
Is a reaction!
A CHAIN REACTION!
Mtaani yaani....
ndio vile kutakua,
ka jana ni leo...
basi leo ni kesho
mtindo ya daily,
kurauka, kusakanya
kuwakuta ma smatta
na hata mkwanja
haitoshi jamaa,
kejani tena kudunga
baadaye keroma,
mabanga kwa kona ni noma,
paha paha chini ya majima,
vyohi vyohi
mchache mchache
katashika hadi che?
ni ka vile kuko,
muadhara
daily clutch iko ndani
jus in case!
The Threat!
Everything about it is set,
Anything needed for it you can get,
All moods and emotion to fret,
It’s the key to ignition missing,
But not absent, just somewhere dangling,
Waiting for the moment of taking,
Inserting and turning.
This thing is like a beast,
Looming by the threshold,
Scanning potential prey-
Who in fear, are down on their knees,
Their lips chat incessant please of mercy!
Approaching the keys,
The possessed predator-
-incensed artificially,
Afraid of being the prey
Hunts down another alike
Fulfilling the quest for the threat.
The clouds are angry,
The nimbus crowd in the heavens,
As if in a plot, blocking the prayers,
Shutting off the light,
From an inevitable plight,
Condemnation of a nation,
Before the fall of the night!
Now it rains,
As the clouds empty their contents,
Washing away the stains,
Cleansing the land-
Creating now light,
But in dark
Inside the thickness
The black stark
Another threat looms!
The Path
It is unsure of it pursuer,
But definitely the doer,
The one that will…
See it,
Feel it
Step on it…
…him know it
But unsure of it,
And its mysterious result.
Its dusty,
A bit rough,
Around the corner, the hill is tough,
Downhill also is tricky enough,
It’s funny this stuff,
We are in-
-that we walk this path,
Un-acquainted with it!
It is covered by tarmac also,
Smooth just as they said so,
Straight ahead facing my torso,
Meandering, winding, finding-
-bends, corners, curves, geometry
In the art of travel
Even the rubber is engaged
To the gravel beneath
An uncompromised union,
Through to oblivion,
Destiny rests on an opinion-
-then the vision!
This one is not there,
There is foliage everywhere,
Verily I would swear,
Another before passed through here,
And ended up there, somewhere,
Where are you
On this PATH!
The Black is Gray!
Once Upon A time,
on a - Different time,
A child was born.
Pure..
Cardinal...
Truly virginal...
clean and black,
Really Black!
The Child now is Grown!
An adult and known,
and they fear their own,
brother, father, mother, sister...
... their own?
Now i lack ID,
I cruise with the ride,
to where the others Died
and fried without pride
by their own!
pure?
cardinal?
truly virginal?
clean and really black?
NO!
For my own chained me!
Mocked and abused me!
In their cellers they locked me,
-all for being me!
This child is stained!
A cannibal!
devouring its own...
masticating,
Swallowing...
Regurgitating...
Chewing...
Its Own!
No
No Black Child,
The Black is Gray!
Strength!
The Shell is weak,
No matter how thick,
might could never stick!
The fragile inside,
Is mighty and tense,
nothing can shatter,
Strong no matter!
The strength of weakness is strong!
It is mightier and never wrong,
Everyday it sings a song,
wooing the will, where it belong..
and seek along even in vain,
Punishing the feebled body to obtain,
A morsel from the flogging pain
-the strength again!
with all its power,
chants a song to acquire,
the need in require,
no matter the fire,
the strength shall gain,
what the strong contain,
no matter the weakness
the shell shall protect,
the strength in harness...
...A graceful fortress!
